Description
After friendly advice from my neighbor, i wanted to decouple prusa mini from sideboard for its night jobs ;). For shure there are a lot of great anti vibration foots designed for prusa mini here. But i wanted to bring some extra mass in the base for a better absorption. It end up with this “keep it simple” draft by upcycling a used multiplex formwork panel from construction site. drilled 38mm holes into the corners of the baseplate to center the squash balls in place.
The more mass you have in the base plate the better damping will work.
Use double yellow dot squash balls for best absorption.
Lesson learned:
The noise reduction and killing of structure-borne noise is excelent !
It works perfect for my purpose so i will just change the base to a more valuable, thicker multiplex, acryl, oak, bambus or maybe even stone board.
Certainly this absorber base works allround for turntables and stuff decoupling in both directions

I really liked his idea for this little self securing foot ring. i just remixed it a bit for better squash ball fit on my demands.
