Cute Cat Bowl with Fill Hole

I love AndrzejG's "Cute Cat Bowl." But I wanted it to feel heavier, especially when printed in marble white.

I tried to drill a hole in the bottom so I could fill it with casting plaster. But the inner fill “grabbed” the drill and pulled it through the other side! Since my model was already ruined, I tried a few more times. I could control the drill, but the holes were jagged and ugly. I wanted to print the model with a clean round fill hole in the bottom.

Using PrusaSlicer, I added a short "negative volume" cylinder to the bottom of the shallow bowl. The cylinder was just tall enough to go through the first four solid layers. Then I resliced for a 0.6 mm nozzle which cut the print time in half. And finally, I edited the gcode to remove the solid "cover" that PrusaSlicer wanted to put over the top of the hole.

It worked great! I overfilled the model with casting plaster, then sanded it flat and smooth after it dried. Casting plaster is super easy to sand after its dried.

My finished model weighs about 520 grams (a little over one pound). It looks and feels great!
