Description
This is a simple contoured hand grip for anything with an Arca-Swiss-compatible foot.
It is particularly well-suited for use with the Faboky camera obscuras, as shown in the second photo. Faboky is described in https://www.instructables.com/3D-printed-Digital-Camera-Obscuras/ and the 3D-printed part designs are at https://www.printables.com/model/282928-3d-printed-digital-camera-obscuras .
This is a very straightforward two-part print. Pretty much any material will work, but I used a metallic Silk PLA.
Unfortunately, so that the Arca mount is literally part of the handle and the handle has a good, natural, contour, the main part doesn't print well without some supports. I printed it without supports anyway and used a soldering iron to touch-up where there were some hanging bits.
To attach the clamp, I used a 1" ¼-20 thumb screw and washer. It is possible to 3D-print ¼-20 screws, and I often do, but I do NOT recommend that here because having a screw break could be catastrophic if this is holding expensive equipment.
