Klingon D'k tahg Knife - Star Trek

Here is a fun and easy to make Klingon d'k tahg knife from Star Trek. Features side blades that open using a simple slide lever on the back. 

Update February 11 2023 - Added an alternate side blade with a notch cutout, as seen on DS9. It has ‘Alt’ in the filename. 

Update November 5 2022 - Updated the blades to use 6x2mm magnets to help keep the side blades open and closed. It works well and gives the feel of being spring-loaded. Need 6 magnets total. Print 2 of each half. Assembly instructions are now included as images.

The main blade half is set to print diagonally to just barely fit a 250x200mm print bed. 

No supports required.

Tip: If your side blades catch on the central groove when closing, slightly bend the end of the tips up so they slide smoothly over the groove. 

Please note the assembled knife is big, about 16 inches long (about 40cm) like the original prop.

Display stand included. 

Style variations coming soon. Was thinking of some different pommels and blade designs, and a body with the klingon logo. And it needs a sheath. 

PLA filaments used were Prusament mystic brown and galaxy black, and Ziro silk silver. Prusament mystic green for the stand.

Layer height: I printed the blades at .15mm, everything else at .2mm.
