Description
The dust cap of speakers can easily be dented by kids, pets or simply by accident.
This tool can help to remove such dents.
The opening of the adapter (speaker side) has rounded edges to avoid additional damage to the dust cap when removing a dent with the help of vacuum.
The hole on the side of the adapter can be closed with your finger to increase the vacuum removing the dent from the dust cap.
To remove the tool from the speaker, the vaccuum can easily be reduced by simply removing your finger from the hole.
Start with a low power level of your vacuum cleaner and increase slowly as necessary.
Fixate the speaker membrane with your free hand when applying vacuum to the dust cap with the adapter.
In case paper/cardboard dust caps do not return to their original shape, the dust cap can be slightly soaked with ethanol (spirit).
But be careful, the wet carton is very sensible to damage … slowly increase the applied vacuum step by step.
I am trying to repair my old speakers that suffered heavily from the curiosity of my kids when they went on their discover journeys.
Until now the results are quite promising.
