Description

My Computrainer Rocking design for indoor training. I've been doing a lot indoor riding on Zwift lately and my behind is starting to hurt with the longer rides (1hr+). So after seeing some minimalistic designs for other trainers, I decided to make one for mine. This is what I came up with using what I have.

V1 was just the middle pivot and using the plastic feet to mount the dampers. Worked ok, but it had some movement, but worked for me.

I added the damper mounts so that I can move the mounts inward more (I used the knurled knobs and the nut thread from akira3dp0's design; https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1460364) Added the 20mm bolt as a convenience. I will be doing a ride later and post a video of it when I get a chance.

I updated the damper mounts with V2 as the first one had the threads in the wrong direction. Removed the old one.

Update - 22NOV2020

I realized that I need to adjust the height of the damper mounts as the floor isn't level. So I added adjustable knobs so that it is leveled before I put dampers. Printing them out now and will add pictures when done.

Filament: Generic PETG & TPU Various

Notes:

the Pivot and Damper Mounts were printed in PETG with a 25% infill.

The dampers were printed in TPU using 1 wall. It will be very stiff if you add more than 1 wall. You can vary the infill percentage to get you the amount of flex, but I ended up printing them with 12% infill with the gyroid pattern. Change them to your liking.

You could also pickup different damper material that you can use. I tried to make everything using my 3d printer as a challenge.

I recommend printing the adjustable bolts for the damper mounts with a higher infill as it'll have to handle supporting your weight/movement. As an alternative, you could always use an M16 bolt for that, but the knurling nut (that I have modified) fits perfectly with the dampers that I have.
