Description

I read and respond to every comment, so please share your questions, comments, and concerns.

Thanks to Vortex_pr for Part 3 of this fountain.

*Update: The fountain failed overnight. It leaked and caused damage to my wood table that it was on. Download at your own risk.*

Print each part.

You will also need a water pump. I used the AM-118USB Submersible USB pump. It has a 2-foot water lift.

Attach Part 3 to the pump nozzle so that when the pipe is in normal position, the pump inlet is facing downwards. (With the suction inlet facing downward, less water is needed. Remember, if the water level drops below the pump inlet, air will get in and the pump will stall.)

Place this assembly into the base of Part 1, so that the pipe is approximately centered.

Place Part 2 over top of everything, with the square hole letting the pipe through and the water falling down through the hole.

Part 2 also has a notch to allow the pump wire to come through.

Troubleshooting common problems

The pump is making a buzzing noise and the water flow is choppy

* Air bubbles from the water splashing are getting into the pump. Try angling the pump until the issue stops. * The pump needs to be cleaned * The pump needs to be lubricated

There is no water flow and the pump is buzzing loudly

  • The pump inlet or outlet is blocked
  • The pump is clogged
  • Air got into the pump inlet and the pump has stalled
  • The water level is too low

The pump is running normally but no water is coming out of the spout

  • Pump flow rate is set too low
  • Not enough voltage or current to the pump
  • The pump disconnected from the pipe

The pump is not running

  • The pump is clogged
  • The wire is broken
  • There is not enough water in the fountain, pump auto-shutoff
  • The pump is not plugged in

The water is splashing out

  • Pump flow rate is set too high
  • There is too much water
  • The cover (Part 2) is not attached

FAQ

The pump nozzle doesn't fit snugly into the pipe

This is normal. Please attach the pump using hot glue or another method of your choice.

Why is there a small hole in the top cover?

This hole is to allow the pump cable to come out.

How much water should I use?

Fill the bottom tank until there is close to an inch of water from the top.

Disclaimers

PLEASE READ - DISCLAIMERS

  • Do not allow the pump to stall and keep running, this can burn out the motor.
  • Please do not drink from this fountain. The pump used does not have a built-in filter, and recycled water will neither taste good nor be good for you.
  • Please do not print the bottom tank in multiple pieces, it is only waterproof if printed in one piece.
