Description:
These funnel were created while I was making other vasemode projects. I needed a filtered funnel while I waited for a metal one to arrive. I wanted something quick, so I created these two. Small one's opening is at 10mm with the filter holes being about 1mm at their widest. The other listed funnel has a 20mm opening and the filter holes are 3mm at their widest. I used this to pour alcohol back in the container after cleaning resin print. Be mindful of the material you make it with compared to it's application. Also, wear your P.P.E. :)
Printing:
PRINT IN VASE MODE!!!!!!!
This was made to solely be printed in vase mode, so save yourself some filament and print it in such.
Clean your print bed . This has a small layer that touches the bed, so don't let a finger print ruin your print.
I printed the small example in FormFutura white rPLA at 0.15MM with a .4 nozzle, took no time at all. I printed the large example in FormFutura white rPLA at 0.20MM with a .4 nozzle, took about 2 hours. If you're a gambling type of person I'm sure you could speed those times up.
I wouldn't scale the small one down at all. However you can scale the regular one down to about 50% in tests before the filter is no longer a filter.
Chemicals!
I made my examples pretty much as a test and a single use.(Wasteful I know) PLA is only really good against water. So you don't hurt yourself or have an accident here's a table of chemical resistances with filaments:
| PP | Most chemicals (except acetone and fluorinated/chlorinated chemicals) |
| PET(g) / CPE(+) | Alcohols (EtOH, IPA), water, acids and bases |
| Nylon | IPA, Solvents (acetone, glycerol) |
| ABS | Water, some acids and bases, alcohols |
| TPU | Water (salts), glycol and fuels |
| PC | Water and alcohols |
| PLA / Tough PLA | Water |
| PVDF | Solvents (chlorinated, aliphatic, aromatic), strong acids, weak bases, halogens, strong oxidants |
