In search of a drag chain for the Creality 3D Ender 6 printer, this may be the one that does the job for you too.
I looked for a few ready-made designs and printed a couple as well for testing. My findings were that they were intended for larger drag chains or they are just too flimsy to prevent sagging.
My design attempts to meet the following design requirements:
- A bracket for hotend side of the stock Creality 3D Ender 6
- A bracket for the cable connector end to guide the cables to the daughter board of the Ender 6
- Chain links that are solid, durable, and sized to accommodate all the cables needed plus extra.
- The brackets must allow for easy addition and removal of cables without having to take apart the whole chain.
- Each chain link must be easily removable and replaceable without having to disassemble the whole chain.
- The chain must not sag, preventing cables from getting caught in the printer's structural components and wheels.
- The chain must move freely across the full XY plane.
- The chain must be long enough to extend across to the furthest point from the cable origin.
- The chain must only bend/curve to the intended side.
I have included the step files to allow for an easier remake for differing requirements and printer setups.
