Description
Citruspers made a good design however I wasn't totally happy with the result.
As you can see in his picture, the bracket overhangs from the heatsink and the two claws on the right are in, what I call, a danger zone: SMD components are just below the related claws.
If you have trouble installing the bracket, you might rip off components and that's GAME OVER.
So I made a design from scratch since he only provided the slicer files. My bracket doesn't overhang from the heatsink but most importantly, the locking mechanism is different.
As you can see in the picture, there are 4 tabs inside the bracket. The tabs sit between two fins of the heatsink. You might need to pry open the fins a little bit, just enough to insert the bracket with (moderate) force. Then you can screw a 40mm fan on top.
Due to the environement where the part will be, I highly recommend to print it with PETG at least.
Credit to Citruspers for the initial design.
Happy printing !
