Description
This remiix of DaveMakesStuff's excellent Modular Mushrooms on Thingiverse adds a puck to hold fiberoptic plastic cables tightly against a Neopixel 7-LED jewel. The lit cables can be draped through the radial gills resembling tentacles. A cavity and hole in base are also added to run the electrical wires. The threaded radial gill is extended to allow adjustment. Use a microcontroller circuit (not included) to drive the Neopixels. To install, place jewel inside the puck (it should be a tight fit), and set on top of assembled gill, stem, and base running wires down through stem. Then insert seven 3 mm end-lit fiber optiic cables into the puck and run them down through the gills. A separate Neopixel such the 12-ring one can also be installed around the puck to light up the cap. Screw cap back on when electrical work is finished and connect wires to your microcontroller and turn on. Scale factor of 200 on mushroom, cap, stem, and gills is recommended. Use 100 on fiber light puck to ensure the cables fit in holes..
