Description
I designed these replacement bushings for one of the gear linkage rods of the golf mk4 since you can buy only rod + bushings. In my case the rod it's still almost new except for some dirt, so I decided to make the bushings on my own. I don't know if the bushings are the same of the other likange rods, but the ones I replaced are of the last rod which engages on the gearbox lever as you can see from the pics.
This bushing has a little looser fit than the original made in teflon but it's not an issue, now it's been 2 months and they're still both in perfect conditions and didn't give me a single issue.
Print them in TPU with 100% infill maybe with a little higher temperature to ensure perfect layer adesion so it won't tear apart during more ""aggressive"" gear shifts. I tried also PLA and PETG but they're not suitable for this part.
Also remember to put some grease in them as you would do with the OEM part. I used standard SKF bearing grease. I don't know if other types of greases might have some sort of corrosive reaction with the tpu.
EDIT:
I made this part in 2022, now it's 2025 and it's still holding fine.
