Description
To mount the LCD driver board, I created this mount that allows you to hang it in place using original screws and screw holes. I saw too many people using double sided tape, and I did not want to risk that given that this thing gets pretty warm. Board purchased from e-qstore-2020 on ebay.
To easily feed through input cables, I attached Male-to-Female extension cables for all the ports leading to the LCD Driver board, and wanted to feed them out the back without tugging on the board. This allows me to swap out the cables or add additional cables later on.
The file comes in two pieces. First, mount the door with the original screws and screwholes, feed the cables through, and then attach the second piece (the small insert) around the cables and hot glue it in place. This will prevent the female ends from going back into the machine. I added cable ties to each side to prevent the cables from going back and forth.
Printed with supports for the screw holes.
I used a separate power plug for my conversion and wanted to cover up the AC port on the back of the iMac for safety reasons. This power plug cover stays in place without glue. However, this may make it difficult to remove it later without tools.
To utilize the camera hole at the top, I added in a USB camera sensor. This print file is designed to utilize the original camera mounting holes and screws along with a Bewinner HD USB Camera Module,OV5640 5MP 25921944P
To cover up the old ports I used a vinyl cutter to cut this print file out on silver color self-adhesive vinyl. The ethernet port is used for alignment and remains cut as I placed the IR sensor for the LCD's remote control to change settings of the monitor.
