TRÅDFRI wall switch

Do you want to instal Ikea TRÅDFRI light into your room but want to keep the wall switch? here is the solution: you will need double side tape, sand paper, new dimmer, little bit of skills with wiring and off course the Ikea TRÅDFRI.

You will take the housing of the new dimmer, brake the two pads and abrade the rest. Then you will attach the print to the housing of the switch. Onto the print you will attach the magnet pad (that will hold the Ikea switch in the place) by using the double side tape. then put the battery into the Ikea switch, put the Ikea switch on the magnet pad, cover the housing with the switch plate, (not the Ikea one but the dimmer one) and you have done the housing.

Next step is that you will completely turn off electricity that goes into the dimmer and disconnect the two wires from the old dimmer and carefully connect them together. Take out the old dimmer and replace it with new dimmer. Check if the wire connection is save and if it is, turn on the electricity. Pare the TRÅDFRI and tadaaa it is done.

The yellow think on the back of dimmer plate is double tape with only one side peeled off to make clicking more smooth. without this it is dangling.(do not peel the other side of double tape that is on the dimmer plate!)

Easy to replace battery.
