Description

My old DC 08 is still working fine but the contact head is broken: the flexible accordion hose inside is totally worn, rubber torn apart.

I bought a supposedly compatible contact head on Amazon but the provided adapter does not really fit the telescopic tube that needs a specific, interlocking part.

So I made my own adapter to fit the adapter...

Two parts to print here:

  • the main part is a large complex tube. It needs a bit of support, just for the screw and nut slots and also for the tunnel where the button will be fitted
  • the lever that holds a small spring (see below for needed parts) and that you will slide inside the tunnel until the button pops out of the tunnel, ready to be assembled with the M3 screw.

You will also need:

  • 1 6.4x10.3mm little spring (I found one in my workshop, it comes from a cheap box of various springs I bought on Amazon years ago)
  • 1 button head hex socket cap M3x30 screw
  • 1 M3 nut

For the assembly, just look at the photos, it's quite simple.

I also shared a diagram with the dimensions for you to decide wether it could suit your needs.
