Description

The 3mf file included is designed to fit my home's candelabra sized lightbulbs and the base, which SCREWS in. I've included a base standalone file so you can see if thats the same and the crystal by itself, both hollow and solid, so you can build your own as needed.

I wanted a thinner object and needed a different base though, I wanted more of a light diffuser, and this is more turning a regular light into a nightlight. Hard to photograph, hence the glowing picture

Entirely accurate crystals! Maybe the cluster's design isnt but each individual crystal was created to be accurate to the structure of Quartz in real life! :D

Print instructions

WARNING! The programs I was using to organize the model did NOT play nicely with the hollow crystal. Meshmixer tools kept throwing errors when trying to create a hole the base of the crystal. Dont ask me why. TinkerCAD turns the hollow object into a solid, which defeated the purpose of me hollowing it out to begin with.

Because of this, the 3MF file contains a MODIFIER part that creates a hole in the base of the crystal so the lightbulb goes in as it should.
Do NOT remove that part or you'll find a nice solid layer in the middle of the print. You've been warned!
The 3MF was recreated after I'd already successfully printed the object so the settings are just generic prusa MK3S settings, feel free to alter those and pick your material as you please

.gcode file is for PET! I used glow in the dark Atomic Filament PET and my lightbulbs are LED. Atomic filament designs with a diameter of 1.74, so turn your flow down about 1% if you care about that slight difference in extrusion.

Do not us PLA unless you have LED bulbs. Incandescent bulbs are TOO HOT for PLA!

If slicing yourself, make it slow and use appropriate cooling for your material. The last thing you want is for some PET to curl just wrong and knock your nozzle or pop the whole thing up off the bed. You dont have to make it look fantastic, believe me the light shining thru this makes it look cool enough as it is
