well, I have jumped into the “remote holders contest” (for hiding them in a convenient way) too late, but I finished this model (and printed 😀) just on time
design is parametric (see source file), so any book width/height is possible (with some minimal values)
with a possibility of insertable remotes holding stand for another level of convenient usage (in a design of cover ornaments)
Parts:
print in place book cover with hinge
faked pages box
optionally also insertable cage for holding a remote
Print instructions:
cover:
this is quite a stress test for your printing plate, as you can have the book cover all over the plate
be sure to have:
🧹 perfectly clean plate + perfect adhesion + perfect 1st layer (the front cover page is printed on the bed)
bridging angle: 45° (because ornaments on the cover are made from bridges and having 0° or 90° will fail)
hinge works fine for 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layers
insertable remotes holder:
recommending PETG or something flexible
Parametric model info:
source file is in Blender, open it, between objects, click “COVER-TOP-PROPS” and open properties (or hit “N”)
“book width” - simply input book width in cm
“count” property - number of connectors in the hinge (so this is a book height)
