Description

Tea timer/dipper to make sure your teabag only remains for the intended time in your cup.

It has the following features:

  • adjustable time from 1 to 9 minutes
  • start/stop button
  • power switch
  • powered via micro-USB cable
  • one hand usage 😊

This is a completely new design, but with nearly identical electronics and programming from TeaBot V1.

After using TeaBot V1 for about a year I finally wanted to get rid of some of its limitations:

  • No one hand usage (which is annoying in an video conference). These are in detail:
    • Starting the timer (without the whole thing moving around)
    • Attaching the teabag
  • Open electronic (on a breadboard) at the back (and sometimes ripped out cables)
  • No stop function (e.g., if you started with the wrong time setting)

Used Tools:

  • Design was done in Fusion 360.
  • Electric Layout was done in fritzing (and if a PCB is needed I tend to use their service as well).
  • Programming was done in Ardunio IDE.

Used Parts:

  • Arduino Nano V3
  • 0,96 Zoll OLED
  • 9g Servo
  • Switch
  • Button
  • Poti (I used the 10k Ohm, but 5k Ohm to 50k Ohm should be fine as well)
  • Micro USB Plug

As you can see I typically get my parts from AZ-Delivery or Amazon.

Printing:

Base, Body and DisplayHolder can be printed without supports. The Arm requires supports. The assembly of the servo / arm unit is tricky and needs to be addressed in the next version…
