bobble turkey

I wanted to make a Thanksgiving model to share with family and friends.

I have included the plain turkey (no legs) as well as the bobble version.  

• For the no leg version, you need to print the turkey and 7 feathers. 
• For the bobble version, you need to make sure that you are using the bobble version of the turkey body, 7 feathers, 2 springs for the legs, and 1 base.

I printed the tail feathers in multiple colors--just load the print bed in your slicer with several copies of the feather and then print the file with a different color each time.  I let each person choose the color of feathers that they wanted.

I recommend using supports for the feathers since they are rounded on the end that inserts into the turkey.  The supports are very small and you may end up not needing them but… If you are having adhesion problems, you might want to use a raft but I found it not to be necessary.

I used supports on the turkey body so that the beak printed perfectly.  

I used the sturdy springs for the legs. 

There are 2 different feathers.  The first one has the pattern pressed into the feather.  The second one has a raised detail.  I printed several of each in each color.  You need a total of 7 feathers for each bird.  If your family plays games at the holidays, you can use the feathers to keep score--players gain or lose a feather for each point.  With small children, you could hide them to be found and the first child to fill the turkey's tail wins a prize.
