Description

Please refer to https://www.printables.com/model/27814-filament-swatch for additional information such as fonts, compatible cases, test patterns, etc. This is still an OpenSCAD based project. I did include one example set of STL files.

Changes

I've made some changes to the swatch. Some of the changes are simple default setting changes and others are to improve usability with an MMU.

Changes to Default Settings

  • Embossed to Raised - By default, the upper area now uses raised lettering. Additionally, the thickness of the material in this area is now 1.6mm.
  • Steps Thickness - I've removed the default 0.6mm bridge and changed the steps to range from 0.2 to 1.4mm in 0.2mm steps.
  • Tests - I'm not concerned about bridging and overhang performance for my swatches, so edge tests and the test circles are now disabled by default.
  • Font - I like the readability of the Squada One font, so this is now the default setting.

There are likely some other minor changes I've tweaked. Regardless, I believe that all previously functionality can be restored by changing the settings that already existed.

New Settings

  • Text Height - The text in the thickness tests (bottom of the swatch) was previously only a few layers tall. This text, as well as the text in the upper section, now extends to be nearly the full thickness of the swatch.
  • Text Tips - This is a new setting that generates only the top few layers of text for the swatch. The intent is that this is to be printed with a contrasting color with the MMU. This greatly improves legibility of the swatch.
