Cyclone Filter 2.5" Shopvac Hose Adapters

These adapters feature an aerodynamic transition to give larger chunks of debris a better chance of making it through without clogging.

Both of the straight and 90 degree inlet styles are designed to be attached to the filter inlet with a friction fit. Glue may be used if you desire a permanent bond. If a more secure fit with the 90 degree inlet is required, I recommend using a set screw instead of glue, in case you need to use smaller hoses later on. Ensure the set screw does not penetrate to the inside where lint can snag on it.

The outlet adapter is designed to be glued to the filter top. I printed my filter and adapters in ABS, and bonded the outlet on permanently with acetone. You may need to use CA or epoxy if you print with other filaments. Removal of the outlet adapter should not be necessary since smaller hoses can still fit through the outlet if required.

I have been using the same black/red/silver ABS filter with black 2.5 adapters for the past few years at work. I do home renovations and repairs for a living, and am as hard on my tools as the next contractor. This the filter and adapters have definitely proven themselves useful and up to the task. I use it with my shopvac regularly, and it really helps reduce filter replacements. Went from a bag a month to a bag a year! ...not from business slowing down either, business has been extremely busy this year.]

Print with 3 or more outer walls for improved durability.

Both straight adapters require no supports (that step on the inlet is 45degrees ;) ). The 90 degree inlet requires printing with supports.

Depending on your printer configuration, the straight inlet may need a brim for adequate build plate adhesion.
