Description
For my wife and her sewing, She likes to keep both her thread and her bobbins together and close by. I found this origin design by Kevin Mathew Thomas which was 90% of what I wanted. Another user, PJCrowther had remixed the spool holder to be thinner to allow compatibility for my thread and bobbin styles. But both required gluing or attaching of some sort, and the brackets couldn't stand upright on their own.
This re-mix adds “tabs” on each bracket arm that allows the crossbar to simply slide in and not need to be glued or otherwise mechanically attached. The tolerance is fairly tight, and the pieces fit snugly, so you may need to make adjustments in your slicer there. I am using an Ender 3 with a .06mm nozzle for my prints. The top arm has a slightly modified clip to allow access to the screw holes for ease of mounting to the wall and the bracket legs have been extended a little to allow the whole thing to stand up-right on its own (This makes putting it together and displaying it or taking pictures of it easier, but it will not stand on its own if you put thread on it, it must be mounted). Likewise, since nothing needs to be glued, if a part gets broken it can easily be replaced or when my wife decides she is done sewing for a while, it can be taken apart and easily stored.
I cannot get Printables.com to upload the mirrored bracket, every time I try, it says it is corrupt, even though it opens and loads everywhere else, so make sure that you print two brackets and you mirror the second one to make this work properly.
I have also included the STL's for the Bobbin clips my wife absolutely loves from xyzaxis over on Thingiverse (they can be found directly here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:2630295 I've included the STL due to recent security issues at Thingiverse).
