Description
One of the first things I wanted to upgraded on my Chevrolet Monte Carlo '76. Was the intake filter system, as well as using my 3D printer for a car project.
So I came up with this design, not optimal in terms of it sucking the hot engine bay air in and through the engine, But a good first project and mechanical and thermal test of 3d printed parts.
The filter part consists of a 5mm thick alu plate and above it goes a hand cut filter material of your own choosing. I had an abundance of fine meshed plastic sheet filter material at my work, so I choosed that.
Similar to this;

The filament material to be used should be either of these materials, to prevent melting of the 3d printed parts;
Polycarbonate
CARBONX™ PC+CF
CARBONX™ PA6+CF
PAHT CF15
Or similar filaments, not PLA, PETG or ABS. They will melt eventually!
