Description

After trying to print the draw latch that was put out/modified by Matereo, I decided to design my own using Matereo's design as inspiration.

I wanted something that I could use M4 hardware to assemble, and standard drywall screws to hold things down.

I'm attempting to make it so that the latch has less pressure on the handle when it's fully latched, so that it stays latched better. You should feel increasing pressure as you go to close it, but just before it bottoms out, it has a slight release of pressure.

I also made a “compliant” version for it. It's simply a short track of arm that allows some bending/stretch in the piece. Figured this would help by providing some of its own tension, if the two halves are placed another mm or two apart from each other.

Hardware Needed per Latch:
1. M4x65mm bolt/nut (actual minimum length is 58mm)
2. M4x45mm bolt/nut (actual minimum length is 39mm, maximum length is 48.6mm)
3. 4 screws (I used drywall screws)

I plan to use two latches in a future DIY build (poultry incubator) and needed something stronger. I hope this works well for whoever tries it and please let me know what you think should be changed. God bless!
