Description
Simple, no bells, no whistles watch stand with a base compatible with Zack Freedman's Gridfinity System.
Fits in a 1x2 standard 42mm Gridfinity space. When configured for a 7.25" (18.5 cm) “wrist” it is roughly 42x84x84mm. No holes for magnets or screws on the base.
Designed in Fusion 360 (.f3d in downloads). I tried to keep it as parametric as possible. You'll want to change the circumference setting according to your wrist size.
A word of warning for anyone modifying the F3D file: as far as I know the design of the Gridfinity base is spot on except for the magnet locations in ‘Cell Bottom’ sketch. When I created the sketch I was using non-standard sized magnets and shifted the locations around a bit. Maybe one of these days I'll convert it to full Gridfinity standard.
Printed in Atomic Filament Light Gray PETG PRO on a Prusa MK3S with Revo V6 hot-end and 0.6mm nozzle. Sliced in Prusa Slicer 2.5.0, 0.3mm layer height using the Generic PETG profile. Supports are required for the build plate side of the base. I used the following support settings:
The supported edges were not pretty and they needed a bit of touch up with a hobby knife but I couldn't come up with any way to print this without supports.
Anyone that would like a different size but doesn't have Fusion 360, comment or message me and I'll get you a modified 3MF file. Also if anyone would like to see this design with magnets (not sure if it's a good idea for mechanical watches) or screw holes, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
New, shorter version available as requested by @Jamboooy_679715. The riser arm is ½ the height of the original which drops the overall height by 14mm (0.55").
