6 in 1 Measurement Delivery Truck

Introduction

This fun little model let's you measure various things and open bottles at the same time! Its wheels spin freely and the trailer moves, so you can deliver measurements wherever you want! I don't vouch for the accuracy…

Functions

• Bottle opener - probably the most obvious one. It uses a coin to make it more durable. I modeled it with a Polish 5 gr coin in mind, but a US penny should also work.
• Barbarian ruler - The front of the truck serves as a 1 inch ruler with markings every 1/8 of an inch. 
• Rotary ruler - front wheel can be used to measure distance traveled by the truck! Each rotation equals 80 mm traveled, wit big markings every 20 mm and small ones every 5 mm. Wheel should have a diameter of 25.45 mm.
• Protractor - Back wheel can measure angles between 0 and 180 degrees with markings every 15 degrees
• Metric ruler - Stripes on the trailer are 5 mm each, allowing you to use it as a rough ruler.
• Diameter gauges - on the back side of the pile of measurements in the trailer there is a diameter gauge allowing you to check the diameter of a few select convex and concave curves. The selection is quite limited and the practicality questionable, but it's fun!

Printing

I designed it with a 0.6 mm nozzle in mind, but obviously smaller nozzles shouldn't pose any problems. It doesn't really require any special settings or care apart from filament swaps if you want the debossing to stand out. Its depth is 0.3 mm, so 1 layer in my case. I also turned on ironing to smooth out the surface.

Assembly

Not much in the way of assembly. First you should attach the parts together using M3 screws. They should be able to freely pass through the holes in the body and cut threads into the wheels and the trailer. Wheels should use 5 or 6 mm screw while the trailer should be fine with 8 mm.

The measurement pile should be glued into place with something like CA glue.

After that, you may want to glue two 6x2 mm magnets into the respective holes on the trailer and body of the truck. It's not mandatory, but it will keep the trailer in its place while still allowing it to rotate freely when needed.
