Based off of model (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5611654) by GeezMoe but redesigned from scratch to accommodate larger desk sizes by using two 3d printed screws as clamps.
Revision 1: (12/5/2022) This is a work in progress. Currently testing:
- Printing of screws and threads (see picture). Orientation of internal threads may cause problems, adjusting tolerances to compensate.
- Printing full model in orientation shown. Trying to model this so it can be easily printed without supports.
Revision 2 (12/6/2022):
- Updated to include pivoting clamp mechanism from johann517's G-Clamp model. Kept original 33mm support by insetting the clamp heads into the print.
- Updated chamfers on internal edges to minimize bridging and allow printing without support.
- Added test print model to test that screw and threads will function as expected before printing the final mount.
Revision 3 (12/6/2022):
- Widened cutout for cable to run under desk. As seen in the picture if your desk is too thick the cable will not be able to run through the mount under your desk. Added an additional 5mm to the bottom (with 5mm fillet to allow for support-less printing)
Revision 4 (12/10/2022):
- It was pointed out that Revision 3 did not have the second screw hole. Do not know what happened when I added the extra cutout but the second hole is now there again.
Print Instruction:
- All parts can be printed with PLA (although PETG will provide more strength for the screws and screw cap) at 0.2mm resolution and a standard 0.4mm nozzle.
- Screws and screw caps should be printed with 100% infill for strength.
- Mount and test I printed with 15% gyroid infill and have had no issues with strength or stability when mounted. Print in the orientation provided in the STL without supports.
