Description
I was putting my winter tires on and usually I write the location of where the tire was mounted before storing it for the winter so I can properly rotate them when I put them back on in the spring. I couldn't find a white crayon so I decided I could 3d print a solution that could be used year after year.
These tags push into the lug holes on the wheel rims. My lug holes are about 18mm so these compress while being inserted and spring back to hold themselves in the lug hole without falling out. You need a filament or resin that can bend a bit without breaking.
I have included the step file that you can load into your favorite modelling software if you want to customize these further
For FDM printers these print without supports, text side down on the build plate. I used ABS and but also tried polycarbonate.
for resin printers I ended up using Onyx Pro410 because it's more durable than FDM prints for small objects like this.
