Description
Dissatisfied with the Aeropress 'travel kit', still got to carry a whole raft of things - like coffee and the filters? I gotcha!
EDIT 2020-06-14: corrected file list.
EDIT 2022-05-30: Added the 120mm pot.
When I got my first Aerorpress, it came in a 'travel bag' that stored all the additional bits and pieces... but it was still a pain to store filters in the bag and you still have to wok out a way to carry the coffee. So, save yourself a few quid, don't buy the travel pack and print yourself all the bits you need. (I think they have changed the item I got to be a 'tote' rather than the travel option now, and there is also the Aeropress go... but no matter, let's continue)
To be fair, this is still a 2 part operation, the base kit that you use at home to prep, and the part you fill and 'travel' with.
Do you use filters or the reusable mesh? Well, there is a lid option for the filters if you use those - the filter-pot-pins, coffee-lid-pins, and lock pins (x2) should be printed otherwise, the mesh can travel 'loaded' in the Aeropress. Then the whole coffee pot load slides into the Aeropress handle.
The Aeropress handle can accommodate 120mm of pots, and there are 3 sizes depending on your tastes:
Print everything with your preferred settings, no magic here. Find your own food safety source, and assume this will kill you on first use. There is no liquid involvement by design here, so microbes will have a tough time. Printing in PETG should allow you to clean anything in a home dishwasher.
The funnel screws onto the pot and you can use the combo spoon and tamper to load it. Incidentally, if you have a hand grinder the funnel fits in the top of the 2 I have to load beans.
Need milk - Yeah, I haven't figured that out yet, sorry.
Need powdered creamer/Sugar? Use one of the stacking pots (or a 20mm pot on top with sweeteners)... or mix it with your brew at the preparation/loading stage.
Need more caffeine? Consider a more concentrated blend, and use the smaller pots as you can stack more of them in the handle.
