Description
Simple incense holder with tray. I wanted a holder wide enough so that no ashes would miss. Designed to be printed without supports.
Please bear in mind that filament is usually not fireproof. This is kind of obvious, but please do not use it unattended.
After some usage, small deformations and dents appeared at the end of the tray. Therefore, I consider PLA unsuitable and recommend using at least PETG.
Inspired by @JayPeero_1211106 I made a slightly longer version (2.0 cm). For reference, my incense sticks have a length of about 20.5 cm.
Mentioned by @ReinerTamas_4052690 I added versions with recess (30*20*2mm) to be filled with heat-resistant materials to prevent melting of the plastic. If the dimensions do not suit you, they can be easily adjusted in the Freecad project. Just a quick note: the project was saved with the recess disabled. To adjust the recess, pad-bottom and pocket-recess must be enabled. Have fun playing around with it.
I haven't tested the version with the recess yet. I'm also still unsure which material to use, but I'm leaning towards filler. So it's still more of a beta version.
In order for the recess to function, I had to ensure that the base matched the depth of the recess, which meant I had to redesign the entire part. It should roughly correspond to the old dimensions. However, as I cannot say for certain, I simply moved the old STL files.
A nice side effect of the redesign is that the part should be more adaptable.
My print was made with 0.2 mm layer heights in PLA without support or raft.
The holder was designed in FreeCAD. Added the FreeCAD file for possible customization. Design is mostly partially parametric.
