Description
CO2 from moonshine.
Fixing 6/4 mm tubes to nuts.
I additionally threaded the threads with a tap before use. Instead of a tap, you can use a regular M10 bolt and M10 nut. Before screwing, lubricate the threads with some grease, I used liquid silicone grease. I drilled the holes in the nuts and then widened them with a reamer. I set the screw securing the nut on the aquarium silicone.
Printing:
I printed with PLA filament. Head 0.4mm, layer 0.2mm. 100% filling!
You can slightly increase the amount of extruded filament to better seal the whole thing, I didn't do it and everything works fine.
As bottles, I used 2 liter Pepsi bottles. You can use any bottles of highly carbonated drinks.
Moonshine on gelatin.
Recipe:
1. We boil water
2. Wait for it to cool down.
3. Pour 700 ml (less than 3 glasses) of water into the pot.
4. Add 300 grams of sugar, which is about 1 and 1/4 or 1 and 1/2 of a full 250 ml glass. Depending on the source, they state that one glass contains 220 grams or 200 grams of sugar.
5. Add gelatine, it's best to give more than the recipe says, e.g. 2x more.
6. mix the whole thing and pour it into a 2-liter bottle, e.g. a Pepsi bottle.
7. When the jelly in the bottle solidifies, make a leaven, mix 50 ml of water, 1 teaspoon of sugar and yeast, e.g. in powder, in a cup. The temperature of the water must be below 40 degrees Celsius or the yeast will die.
8. Pour the leaven into the jelly bottle and connect the moonshine to the aquarium.
You have to wait a bit for the pressure to build up but it works even with one bottle. I currently have two moonshine hooked up to a 60 liter aquarium.
