Description
This is my previous model but with 5mm mounting holes in the tips for LEDs.
Pictured is printed in clear PLA, 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle, with a cheap battery-powered 20 LED christmas light set.
The easiest way to put it together is to fully assemble the star except for the very last bar, then feed the LEDs in one at a time through one of the gaps left by that bar, working in a spiral from the tip opposite that gap. Then when you come to fit the final bar you can wrap the battery cable round the bar as a tension relief.
Don't try to insert the LEDs as you're assembling the star, it's too easy to end up in a situation where there's not enough cable to stretch from where an LED is to where it wants to be.
I found a pair of chopsticks and some bent-nose pliers to be extremely useful.
