Description
In Germany you can print at most “dm-drogerie markt” for 50cent a 15x20cm photo directly. No need to wait. This model will fit this size. However you can also scale the model to other sizes this way:
Before printing (1) download heart_photosize.stl, (2) put it in your slicer software and (3) resize it to your actual photo size. You only need to input the height of the photo if your photo is horizontal. (4) Use the “Scale factor” for all other files you print afterwards:
You can print a little helper to cut your photo in the right shape. It will also show what part of the photo will be visible later (inner heart). It consist of: (A) heart_cut_photo_helper.stl as base model and (B) heart_cut_photo_helper_innerarea.stl as modifier and (C) heart_cut_photo_helper_visible also as modifier. You can download heart_cut_photo_helper.3mf to see all parameters I have used to create this shape (Do not forget to scale the model with the “scale factor” you found out before):
Happy printing!
You can add a light source later. Depending on your scale factor, you might have to make the hole for the light bigger. You can purchase the light for about 4€ at aliexpress. Just look for: "USB DC 5V COB LED Strip". 50cm should be enough for most sizes.
