Description
This is a mod of the Lack Enclosure Leg Bracket by ChampagneR00m. I designed it so that you can print it on it's side without requiring supports. The benefit of printing this on its side is that orients of the print layers for better overall part strength and improves the strength of the ends of the bracket where the screws go in.
Like ChampagneR00m, I've made three designs with screw holes of 3, 4, & 5mm in many locations to improve installation flexibility. The holes are in the same location as ChampagneR00m's design. There are also extra larger holes elsewhere on the bracket to make installing the screws easier. These other holes shouldn't adversely affect bracket strength.
I originally designed this bracket for the IKEA Lack enclosure for the Prusa i3 MK3 with MMU2S (https://www.printables.com/model/4291-prusa-printer-enclosure-v2-with-mmu2s-support-0125), but it would work for shelves or tables as well.
I used PETG with a 0.4mm nozzle, 2mm perimeters/top/bottom and 20% infill for these. This design will also work with a 0.6mm and 0.8mm nozzle and it will print faster. :-)
***Update 5 Jan 2023: I added version 4. Look for “V4” in the filenames. I think I'm done making changes now. These are mods for the same reason I did V2 & V3, but a bit less busy (meaning less material and less time to print) and accomplishes the same purpose of reinforcing the parts of the bracket that are weaker after adding the slots to make putting in screws easier. I'm going to keep this, and the original version, up and take down V2 & V3.
***Another Update 4 Jan 2023: I added version 3. Look for “V3” in the filenames. Similar concept to Version 2 but less material to print.
***Update 4 Jan 2023: I added a new version. Look for “V2” in the filenames. The intent is to make it easier to install the screws and to strengthen the edges.
