When I'm out riding and take a break I'll take my glasses off but there's no safe place to put them, so they often get dropped, scratched, smashed, or even left behind. This design gives you a safe place to put your glasses when they're not on your face. Not intended for holding your glasses while riding.
- Making: I printed mine in PETG with 4 perimeter walls, lying flat, and with no supports. There shouldn't be much bridging droop in the inside of the box. The bar "ring" is sized for a 35mm bar. The opening at the bottom is sized at 23mm to allow installing the holder onto the handlebar out by the levers and slipping it toward the stem. The width of the "box" is sized at 12.5mm which fits my Smith PivLock glasses just fine.
- Design: The box-side of the bar clamp ring is sized to match the handlebar (bar_Dia). My 35mm bar measures 34.5mm. The non-box-side of the ring is sized to a slightly smaller diameter (bar_clamp_Dia, 1mm smaller than bar_Dia) so that the ring grabs the bar - see one of the CAD pictures. box_W sets the left-right opening width of the box, and thus the overall width of the holder (plus 2mm side walls on the box). The box front-back depth (box_D) and up-down length (box_L) are also adjustable in the model. A fully parameterized Fusing 360 model is included so that you can dial the design to your needs.
