Description
Set of two watertight covers for protecting MC4 connectors from dirt and corrosion.
Parametric, open-source, free. Designed using ShapeScript.
Actual MC4 locks — not just plugs or caps, these covers attach the same way MC4 connectors do;
Tethering hole — pair two covers together with a thread, or tie the protected cable to something;
Chunky bases — easy to attach and remove;
1 x Silicone o-ring (7mm I.D., 10mm O.D., 1.5mm C.S.);
No supports needed. Minimal layer height, random seam position. Any infill %, rigid or flexible UV-resistant filament (PETG, ASA, TPU) without electrically-conductive additives (no carbon fiber, metal, or graphene). For SLA printers, clear resin works best.
The male cover should be printed with "Print infill first" setting on, to make the locking edges come out nice. On resin printers, the locking tabs feature enclosed compartments that entrap uncured resin, which gets cured later in the UV box. A similar thing exists for FDM — those channels run all the way down and through the bottom, making it possible to reinforce the locking tabs with thin resin (and fibers).
