Description
I like the Sturdy Handles by jeoje but wanted to round the top and bottom of the handle profile so the sides don't cut into my hand. And then I got carried away by the power of 3D CAD and added personalized text to the top of the handle. Standing on the shoulders of giants, some people just can't control their power.
If you want to add text to the top of the handle in Fusion 360, open the f3d file, select the Handle component, open up the sketches and the bottom one is “Monogram”. Edit that sketch as you wish.
Note that M5 x 12 socket head screws are required. Button head screws do not fit in the holes.
I found that the handle can spin the 2020 extrusions on the sides of the Trident since there is just friction holding it in place. Two brackets are needed, one in each back corner, and (4) total M3x8 screws and M3 tee-nuts keep the extrusion in place. I updated the design to also include grabbing the extrusion on the side using the same configuration as the handles since there was still a little movement with my original design. Make sure the “hook” is on the side extrusion, since the vertical extrusion is already locked from rotation. I printed it on one of the back sides with supports from build plate only, and 1 layer of raft to aid in removing the support.
I also included a version of the bracket for M5x8 screws if you have extra of those or just want a little extra security.
