Description
Main statue was printed in one piece on an Ender 5 in Hatchbox black PLA with light infill (maybe 15%?) and took 72 hours. After printing, the model was sanded and covered in a couple layers of Mod Podge to try to smooth out some of the layer lines. After letting the Mod Podge cure, the model was painted with couple layers of Liquitex Basics acrylic paint in neutral gray 5. After laying down the base coat, shadows were added with Army Painter brown wash and then highlights added by drybrushing with Army Painter Orc Skin. I used a roll of cheap brass chain and secured it by drilling small holes into the model and sealing the wire in with mod podge.
Arms were printed on an Elegoo Mars 3 in with Elegoo Water Washable Ceramic Grey resin. The two larger arms were hollowed out and printed in sections to fit on the bed then glued together with Loctite gel super glue. For the 2 big arms, I put about 100 pennies in the base before gluing to allow them to stand on their own. Painting these models was the same as the main statue, except without the Mod Podge.
The purple pustules on the palms were molded with purple polymer clay and glue on with super glue after baking to harden. They were covered with a layer of Army Painter gloss varnish then a few streaks of black detailing were added, followed by a second layer of varnish to give it that shine.
Still need to complete the terrain and add some more chains, but it is a great start.
