Nozzle Box (for 6 pcs. E3D V6)

Most nozzle boxes are for a high number of nozzles. I don't own that many nozzles (yet), but I liked the design of Julia Ebert's nozzle box. Thanks to the uploaded STEP files, I was able to change the box to fit 6 pieces of E3D V6 nozzles. I changed the hinge from being a print in place hinge to a hinge with a durable “filament pin”. A few fits and distances are changed as well.

Print On Top or Negative Volume Symbols

I uploaded some symbols that you can use for printing on top of the lid or to create a negative volume on the top or side of the nozzle box. The nozzle symbol is grabbed from the Printables website (it's their symbol for the nozzle diameter). There are two folders with symbols. One folder with symbols for printing on top with a small nozzle. The other folder is for using the models as a negative volume. Those models are 0.6 mm high and have no chamfer.

Printing with PLA or PETG

The holes for the “filament pin” should have a snug fit. The gcode file has the nozzle symbol cutout and a color change command after the first few layers. I printed my black and white box with PETG.

Printing with Wood Filament

I challenged myself to print this box with wood filament (extrudr Wood natural) and a 0.6 mm nozzle. There are special files if you want to print a nozzle box with wood filament too. Higher tolerances on the model, a few setting changes in the PrusaSlicer and a little bit of rework with sandpaper and a knife is necessary to create this lovely box. The nozzle symbol was printed directly onto the assembled box with PLA and a 0.25 mm nozzle. You can find my stl, 3mf and gcode files in a separate folder.
