Description
I learned about the Vacu Vin® wine saver while working at a winery. We would pump the air out of our unfinished wine bottles every night in the tasting room so the wine wouldn't oxidize. In the presence of oxygen, wine will only last a day or two in the fridge, after which it starts to smell like nail polish remover - it's still plenty good for cooking though. The product is great. The kit consists of a rubber stopper check valve and a hand pump.
After I got into Sous Vide (sub-boiling, precision) cooking, I purchased a Food Saver® Vacuum Sealer. I came up with this adapter to the hose accessory so you can use the powerful electric vacuum pump of the Food Saver instead of the Vacu Vin hand pump.
Sidenote: get yourself an adapter for mason jars and store your fresh coffee by vacuum! We use the vacuum pump nearly every day for this.
Use a few extra perimeters and top and bottom layers to ensure the thing seals against atmospheric pressure. It doesn't have to hold for long, but better to be safe. The *.gcode and *.3mf files should take care of you. I used PET-G.
