Deal With It Glasses Holder

General

Glasses holder / mount which flips a sign that says, “Deal With It” when you place your glasses! The mechanical force is all based on gravity and the weight of the sign. We've seen a lot of this mechanism on things like coat racks and wall mounted key holders so why not make one for our glasses?

Printing Instructions

No supports necessary. Just recommended Brim on the ones marked below.

Print Count

• 1x - Face
• 1x - Lever
• 1x - Peg - Print with Brim
• 1x - DealWithIt
• 2x - Lock
• 2x - SidePeg - Print with Brim

Assembly

1. Take the DealWithIt piece and insert it into the rectangular hole in the Lever piece
2. Take the assembled piece in step 1 and insert the Peg into the hole on the side
3. Take the assembled piece in step 2 and drop it into the Face where the Peg should slide nicely in the center
4. Take the Lock pieces and block the portions on the Face where you inserted the Peg. It should just insert one way (Take note that there are raised edges on the Lock piece and the side without the edge is facing towards the center of the Face
5. Attach the SidePeg into the left and right side of the Face
6. Done!

Misc

My Print Settings

I printed my example on a direct drive printer with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height. Depending on your printer tolerances, you may or may not need to adjust accordingly.

Tolerance Information

I had put a 0.4mm offset between the Peg and the hole it slides into in the Lever and the Face so I don't expect tolerance issues there. I had put a 0.12mm offset between the Lock and the Face as well as the DealWithIt square piece and the Lever. 

Arm Length

If your glasses are larger or the arms are longer, you can scale the Z offset for the SidePeg

Glue?

No glue should be required but feel free to add some to the SidePeg or the Lock when you are satisfied with how it all came along!
