Description

This is a simple tool for holding the bell of a brushless motor to prevent it from rotating while installing or removing propellers.

It's printed in 2 parts. The main body can be printed with PLA, although it would probably be more durable if printed with nylon. There's also a lining which is printed flat and then folded and installed inside the main body. It must be printed using flexible material, like TPU. It will prevent the motor bell from slipping.

It is possible to use the tool without the flexible lining, although the force which must be applied to keep the motor bell in place will be much higher and the part might break.

2 versions are available: large (designed for 23XX motors) and small (designed for 16XX motors). I have successfully tested the large one with 2306 and 2205 and the small one with 1607, but their tolerance should be relatively large.

If you need a different size, please request or use the parametric model in onshape, link: https://bit.ly/2GGmjYH

Version 2: after over a year of use and many broken instances, I definitely recommend to print using at least PETG instead of PLA. I also updated the onshape document with a thicker, 2.8mm version, just in case; uploaded v2 of 23mm. For any custom motor diameters please use the onshape link.
