This is a 4 piece model designed to snap together and be attached to a 2020 extrusion, it is 300mm long, but can be scaled up or down.
It uses a 144 LED/Meter argb strip to have high pixel density, and plugs right into your mainboards LED port. I used this and this for adding effects with klipper. I believe marlin has support for neopixels too.
You will need:
- 144 LED/M LED strip like this
- Some sort of ~20awg or similar wire
- Some dupont 2.54 connectors for the mainboard
Print Info
- Print the case in black
- The ‘Diffuser cover’ should be a transparent black/gray, if you use white the pixels will look blurry
- The LED segment part should be printed in a silk/gloss light color PLA. IF you use white each LED will light up 2-3 segments from light bleeding through, black won't allow the light to fully fill up each segment. Some sort of shiny silk works best, I used silk silver
- The thin sheet should be printed in white, and should only be 3 layers (0.6mm) thick
- Everything snaps and slides in together, with a hole on one side to pass the 3 wires through
