Description
In my current house I do not really have any great access to putting the antenna for my FR24 flight tracker in a suitable outdoor position but still want as good reception as I can get.
I found that by securing the antenna to the inside of one of my windows still gives me around 125nm range.
I am using this antenna: https://thepihut.com/products/60cm-1090mhz-antenna-for-ads-b
but I think there are many similar ones available.
In order to attach it to my window a quickly designed up a couple of clips.
The top one can fit anywhere along the main shaft of the antenna as it is about 20mm diameter all the way up, the bottom clip fit snuggly around the metal base of the antenna after removing the fitted wall mount.
Just add a cable tie around the antenna above the clip to stop the whole thing from sliding down.
I used doubled sided foam tape 20mm wide stuck to the back of the clips, after roughing them up a bit with sandpaper and then as long as the window area where the clips are going is clean, stick them on.
Design for 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 15% infill - PLA
Happy printing ;)
