Replace the cable with a plugit adapter. The change is reversible. Work in tandem with the CLEANTEC hose connector.
Needed:
Festool replacement part #489742
two #6-32 x ½'' machine screws
To install:
Mark which plugit adapter cable replace the black/white cable
Open the back cover, keep the screw.
Remove cable clamp, keep the screw.
Slide the connector box, following this video:
Remove the power cable and strain relief.
Install the festool connector, route its cables. My jointer does not have the TNS-2 security capacitor, so there is free space. When the capacitor is present, the plug cables may have to be shortened a little first.
Install the new back cover. There is just enough opening to pass the festool connector through.
Screw back the 2 original screws.
Install the secondary cover, Use the new machine screws to secure it to the main cover.
The best way to print it is upside down with supports in the plugit connector. They need to be carefully removed for the plug to fix correctly.
