Description

Router Lift for full size router motor.  Hardware is pictured but I left room in the model to use different hardware if needed.

I used SAE hardware because it is ¼ of the price where I live.  the main threaded rod is 5/16, 6 inches long with a nylock nut on the top and a standard nut inserted in the nut retainer(5/16 nuts take a ½ in wrench/socket).  the bolt that tightens the clamp to the base is ¼ in by 1 ½ in long. To clamp the router in I used #8-32 x 1 ¼ bolts with nylock nuts and washers but there is room for slightly larger hardware.

Printing the ½ in Driver is optional as you may not choose to use ½ in (13 mm) nuts or already have a socket lying around.  The indent in the top is intended for a thin magnet.

I printed the models with 5 walls and 25% gyroid infill. I also mounted the base to a commercially available router plate (pictured) but it could be mounted to a piece of wood just as easily.

I didn't make a model for the knob as I already had one lying around but there are tons of great ones available for download.

Assembly

Insert a 5/16 nut into the nut retainer

Insert the nut retainer into the slot on the flat vertical section on the clamp

Insert the clamp into the dovetail of the base

Insert a ¼ in bolt into the inside circumference of the clamp exiting the base

Insert the key (may print in 2 parts depending on your printer settings) into the clamp through the slot in the base

Screw a nylock nut and washer to the end of the threaded rod (all thread) and insert into the recess on the top of the base, screw into the nut in the nut retainer

Optionally, there is a recess in the top of the clamp to accommodate another nylock nut to keep the threaded rod from raising out of the base.  If desired assemble this hardware on the base first.

Screw on the knob or nut to lock the clamp at it's current height.

Don't forget to tighten down the hardware holding the router in the clamp.
