Description

I wanted a way to organize my small bathroom sink and didn't quite find an off the shelf solution for my specific space and need. Naturally, this meant I had to make it myself.

The stand will accommodate two Quip brand toothbrushes and one of their branded toothpaste tubes. The recess for the toothpaste will reliably keep it upright. The stand itself will fit either the metal or plastic bodied Quip brushes - I did find the metal one is slightly wider than the plastic one. Keeps the brush positioned so that it doesn't touch bottom - a concern I've always had with just using a cup of some kind to hold my toothbrushes is how gunky it seems to get on the bottom of the cup. The sloped drainage feature works ok. Could be better honestly, but for a toothbrush stand is sufficient. A second base model is included that is a little flatter, could hold a smaller travel sized soap if desired.

The horizontal pieces print flat to the bottom, no supports needed. I recommend at least 3 walls here and 5 top layers. You can keep the infill light, 10-20% rectilinear should be fine.

The uprights you'll want supported at the base by their tenons and the small opening for the upright brace. Randomize the z seam. I found that because I made this press fit, there can be some tolerance stacking on an aligned z seam that will require too much force to install the uprights or the brace. I also recommend setting the perimeter to 5 to make the uprights all walls. I had some issues personally with the amount of retractions that occur trying to just use 2 walls and some infill for the uprights. Your experience may vary.

To assemble, press the uprights to the upright brace. Press the uprights into the base. You may have to do a little fore and aft rocking to work the uprights into the pocket. Press the top onto the uprights last. Some light tapping with a screwdriver handle around the top tenon will ensure an aesthetic, flush fitment and help drive the uprights into the base.
