Description
I just needed a simple phone cradle for a small tripod. No clamps, no handles, no adjusters, certainly no post printing assembly with tiny metric hardware….
So, I had to design my own.
Simple gravity held design, outrigger on the side to compensate for setting off to one side a little further, since all camera lenses are offset to the phones end. ¼"-20 threads ½" deep in the bottom, slight countersink is so printing the first layer doesn't smoosh the first threads too much.
Cradle slot is 12.6mm, for a loose but supportive fit on a Motorola G7 in a moderately heavy case… Fits my S8 Active too… Should fit any “normal” sized phone thats not in a bulletproof case.. ;)
Needs one little corner to corner support under the outer end of the long side bar if you have good bridging. I don't so it took one mid lenght as well.. Simple and easy.
I printed at 0.25mm, 8% gyroid infill, in a wood filled PLA… But any height and any material should be fine, its not a precision fit part with a lot of requirements for good looks either ;-D Make it how you like it to work!
