Description
Update 2023.02.04: v4 has been uploaded. Â Based on a user issue, the pin-to-sattle pres fit has been replaced with a thread connection. Â This should solve the issue of accuracy issues between different types of printers which reduce the strength of the press-fit.
Update 2023.01.31: v3 has been uploaded. Â Added were two additional mounts for a flat tape-on solution and a mount for using a strong 4x30mm magnet.
Are you working from home and have limited space on your desk? Â Where do you have your headphones? Â Hanging under your desk is a great solution, but not ideal if you have kids or pets.
Hence this solution I put together. Â I wanted something I would swing back to be out of the way and not block my screen, yet easy to reach when the boss calls.
The 60mm holder is wide enough to fit most of the largest headphones, the 30mm is for the slimmer headsets. Â Both have three swivel positions.
Attach using 3M double-sided tape. Â Just remember to clean the surface with an alcohol wipe before applying. Â I use 3M 5925 tape and have not had any issues so far.
For the magnetic base: You will need a 30mm magnet with a mounting hole in the middle (example). Â The hole is 4mm deep, so thicker magnets will stick out a little. Â Of course, you can also glue the magnet in place if needed. Â
Issues: If your metal surface is super smooth, the holder may slide down regardless of how strong your magnet is. Â This is unfortunately the physics of the design and the quality of consumer-grade magnets. Â I am currently trying to use two large magnets.. will make an update on how it goes.
 Happy printing!Â
