Description
This Majin logo was designed to fit the holes for the back emblem of a gen2 Mazda 3. It also just looks cool as a thing to have.
To use a PLA logo on a car I heated the print gently and bent it to better fit the curve of the trunk. After bending I had some layer separation. I would probably print 100% density at a small layer height to fight the separation and cracking. I filled with wood filler and coated in sandable primer. After filling more cracks with wood filler, I covered it with a coat of black acrylic paint and finished with Gold Leaf Rub N Buff.
I recently repeated the print, but using TPU instead. I also used the Fuzzy Skin setting in Cura. I then finished with black acrylic and Rub N Buff. I think the TPU works much better due to its flexing ability, I have not tested outdoors
